Emotional Expression through Mark Making - Final Day

Final Day of Emotional Expression through Mark Making (EEMM)

On this final day of EEMM, we had an expert provide demonstrations of the purest form of Intuitive Art.  Childrens' Art is completely, intuitive.  Absolutely no technique.  Ms. June Mitchell, Guest Artist, showed the group how to free up their creative flow and be brave and bold.  At one point, Ms. Mitchell crushed leaves onto her work. Another intuition she had and showed was adding dusty dirt with tiny pebbles to another piece of her work.  What a magnificent thing to witness in person, the birth of untainted intuition.

Hopefully, you are beginning to understand Intuitive Mark Making (IMM). The entry for day 2/3 linked to a website that I think is particularly helpful for beginning IMM (see previous blog  entry).  Go back and review entries 1 and 2 about IMM if you are having doubts or trouble.  Enjoy!

Keeping it Together through Knitting -  Did you know that knitting is an accepted mode of therapy to reduce anxiety?!  Yep, it is.  This is because it requires all the power that your sequential and muscle memory skills can suck out of your brain at one time.  It is also an exercise in not becoming attached.
This series will offered from 5:00-6:30 on Thursdays, December 3, 10, and 17

Process Your Yearnings through Sculpture -  What do you yearn for in these times of Covid, fires, and elections? What is it you want to see that you are not seeing?  What do you value in this world of ours?  Process your yearnings through Sculpture. This will be a one day event from mid morning to sundown, if needed. If you would like to attend, pleas offer input for for day and time.
